Internal Love

Whether this is your first time visiting Glambar or your a regular here our mission is clear. We want you to leave us walking a little taller after your pampering. We understand how life isn’t always plain sailing and not everyday is a good day so if we can help a little it makes us happy. We want you to love and appreciate yourself.

So this month we wanted to tell a story about a woman that loves herself enough to take care of herself, but the struggles that came with it and that you are not alone.

Meet Juliana the co owner of a yoga studio called Holisticrats. Juliana’s mission is to welcome people to her studio and make them feel included, no matter what is happening in their life.

When I first started to learn about Juliana and her journey I couldn't stop scrolling through her instagram page - Juliana.bottini. Such transparency and honesty. It’s hard to imagine putting so much personal information on a platform for everyone to see - but she did! And now she finds herself in an amazing place in her life knowing all the struggles she went though got her to where she is today.

We should all be so fortunate to find this peace and love for ourselves. The truth is we can - all of us. It’s ok to admit when you are having a hard day, or the kids are driving you crazy or you just don’t want to make dinner tonight.

It took Juliana a long time to love herself but now look at her! Her memories from her childhood are so vivid and true. Her perspective as a child losing her father and how it affected her is so upsetting but made her who she is today. A strong woman that loves herself, her life and wants to help other people.

There was a video online recently that showed two sides of how a father is perceived by a child. One father you see was not present and strict and didn't give his daughter much of his time. The other you see going on play dates and opening the door for his little princess.

The ending stuck with me. The loving father said he wants his daughter to be treated like a princess so when she grows up that is the standard of a man that she wants to take care of her. A prince for his princess.

We don't realize as parents sometimes how we shape the perception of our children. That in itself is scary but we have the ability to help. Love ourselves so our children know to love themselves.

On Juliana’s website in her bio you can read this:

My life completely changed: hate was replaced with love, fear was replaced with courage, self-rejection was replaced with the deepest self-acceptance. Today, I live a life I LOVE .

My battle with depression led me to yoga and holistic living. At 14 years old I felt completely helpless and hopeless.

In my darkest moment, I couldn’t  take it anymore. I needed the pain to stop. I wrote a letter to my mom blaming her for everything, another to my boyfriend telling him I was sorry, a letter to my dad telling him how much I loved him.

I picked up scissors. I walked to the bathroom. While putting the scissors to my wrist, I felt this energy move through me I felt a deep knowing that this was not the way, I put the scissors down and I cried. I bawled and begged that energy to show me another way . This was my first encounter with the universe.

Juliana has risen above the depression, pain and bad relationships to be where she is and that’s why we wanted to feature her. To let you know it is possible. Juliana is the proof of this so if you have a moment read more of her story and let it inspire you like it has us!!

Thank you Juliana for sharing your story and becoming a positive member of our community.
